Exploring Wellness Modalities for Balanced Living

I am excited about this blog entry as it is close to my heart, and I love to talk about, write about, vlog about, and live about it. The topic is Wellness Modalities. That’s right; health, wellness, living to your full measure, and being whole are conversations and topics I wholeheartedly embrace.

You know the adage: If you don’t have health, you don’t have anything. That is partly true, but it is true enough that we should be mindful of its implications. Health, Wealth, Sickness, Spirituality, Injury, and Accidents all play a widespread role in our state of homeostasis.

I don’t get sick, but I have had my fair share of other things that have drawn me to the desire to know how to heal myself. In my professional career, I’ve suffered injuries, some requiring stitches, immediate adjustments or rest, and others surgery from ACL tears. Over the last four decades, I have had too much stress simply from running a business; believe me, stress is a significant factor in your health. I wanted to know what would best serve me, and as one who does not take meds, or even Tylenol or ibuprofen, I was curious about what natural remedies were out there; I was open-minded to discover possibilities.

This blog will discuss the wellness modalities that have best served me. I want to share what modalities I have embraced or tried over the years in the hope that you, too, may find wellness through them. I’d love to read your feedback at the end of this entry; we might learn from each other.

The Program

My overarching premise of this message is for us to be in tranquil homeostasis. Homeostasis isn’t permanent; in one era of life, we can be in good health; in other eras of life, we are in better health, and yet, in different eras, poor health or excellent health, we fluctuate. We ought never to compromise the feeling that one is not living to the full measure of one’s existence; we ought to have joy and feel completeness, yet there may be eras that prevent us from doing so. Let’s custom-design our program.

When we discover solutions, taking action is vital, and becoming more self-reliant is a key ingredient. We will then experience modalities that best resonate with us. Some of these you will find at different times may be good, better, or best. As our bodies and environments change and DNA gets reprogrammed, we may adjust modalities that best meet our needs in the new iteration. Throughout our lives, we face matters that usurp our physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental state. If only by the snap of our fingers, we can be whole. As Gandhi said, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Your world and your health are what you created, for the most part. Accountability plays a key here; However, I hope every reader feels blessed with the body our creator has given us and that we treat it as a temple, like King Solomon’s Temple. By reading and understanding what is available to restore, balance, and create, we may become closer to homeostasis.

A Holy & Clean Sanctuary

What exactly is homeostasis? It’s the process by which an organism maintains a stable internal environment. Did you re-read that? A stable internal environment. Stability is the strength to stand or endure. I want that! Learning about all modalities and how to access and utilize them allows your body to adapt and thrive in a changing environment, giving you hope and optimism for your health journey. Not all modalities cost money on services. Not all modalities are needed all of the time, but having routines and self-care ought to be an all-time thing, just as the temple workers did in King Solomon Temple, pristine outside the House of The Lord, the building, the grounds, and inside the Temple walls. In other words, your entrails, whole body, and environment, including the things and people you are surrounded by.

On our imperfect planet and in our imperfect in our bodies—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We may not feel our best all of the time. Our bodies may lack energy, we may have an injury, be overwhelmed with stress, or even depressed, and our bodies may be changing due to environment, age, birthing, weight loss, perimenopause, menopause, mental decline, or even cutting for an athlete having to make weight, loads of scenarios to cherry-pick from. Whether we did damage to ourselves or with the aid of others, even inherently, to make us whole, we need to get back to homeostasis.

Team Work Makes the Dream Work

Since self-reliance plays a significant role in this journey, being in tune and knowing oneself, as Socrates said, is necessary. Health is our responsibility. However, modalities may also invite or require dependency or interdependency from others. We may add, eliminate, or modify these modalities as we grow. Once we have learned all about ourselves, we can then help others. Stephen Covey’s 8TH Habit is To Find Your Voice and Then Inspire Others To Find There’s.

My Journey

In 2000, I experienced my first recognized modality, chiropractic care; My second was a deep tissue massage. Third was reflexology. Fourth and Fifth, Swedish Massage and Ashiatsu Massage, and then I lost count. Unfortunately, I sustained a significant injury, and having required surgery on torn ligaments, I followed up with weeks of physical therapy. Physical therapy introduced me to new modalities in Traditional Chinese Medicine, like Cupping and PNF stretching. A martial arts coach persuaded me to try acupuncture; although I was hesitant, I did try it, and surprisingly, it worked for me. I took that same concept of meridian points, studied acupressure, and have incorporated this art into my life ever since. I found diet and foods among the wisest modalities and am constantly conscious of those benefits. Essential Oils began to play a massive role in my life, and then I was introduced to Iridology, which blew my mind; more to come on that in the future blog. Cold therapy, Red Light Therapy, Nerve Therapy, Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) therapy, mind-body therapy, Aroma Touch, and more!

I was infatuated with the discovery of each new modality serving me better and better. I wanted to learn more about this concept: experience healing and have the harmony of homeostasis. At this time, I chose my first course to become a wellness coach; later, I became a certified holistic health coach. Since then, I have been offering classes, workshops, events, coaching, teaching, and sharing to hundreds and hundreds over the decades, which brings me much joy!

Origin of the Issue

There are so many modalities because there are so many root causes that we may need help with. These could be nutritional, generational, spiritual, emotional, structural, addictions, vibrational, cleansing, reducing or eliminating toxicity in your life as an electrical flow in or around your body, eliminating disturbances, fixing your Polarity, etc. How we feel sets off chemical reactions, and those reactions can imprint into our DNA.

Mindfulness to Health 101

  1. Drinking water and ensuring that your body has the necessary water is essential, as dehydration is the route to many health and skin problems.
  2. Maintain a high level of nutritious foods.
  3. Avoid toxic people, products, environment, lifestyle information, etc.
  4. Learn to say no or tell your inner self no.
  5. Manage stress.
  6. Exercise and be consistent, but don’t force yourself.
  7. Use daily spiritual practices and be anchored.
  8. Sleep is wildly important, and they say eight hours is optimal.
  9. Gain a sense of purpose, live your full measure of creation, and have passion and joy by sharing your talents, gifts, and knowledge with others.

Rev Your Engines

How do we know where to start? We can ask ourselves questions, as Socrates implied. We are energy, and your energetic signals have responses or answers if you will. This method of asking the body questions is called Muscle Response Testing (MRT). Ask yourself or MRT yourself or others, which you can learn to do. First, you should reset or clear your circuits by removing EMFs, drinking water, listening to classical music, and getting in tune with nature. In other words, ask yourself when you feel your best and, if not, remove toxic things and people to get the correct responses. We can then understand whether there is a blockage, an underactive or overactive channel, or a circuit. Or go with your gut!

Mark, Set, Go!

Then, ask what you require to heal and discuss possibilities like the ones I mentioned in my journey or these: Essential oils, herbs, flowers, and gemstones such as agate, lapis lazuli, calcite, copper, coral onyx, and petrified wood are modalities for healing and wellness.

Install air purifiers and diffusers in your home to ensure self-care for your face, skin, and oral hygiene. Also, stop using fluoride and get a water purifier system.

Tell yourself affirmations or afformations. Spend time in genealogy for your ancestral support and artistic expression, like painting or looking at paintings, going to a museum, and appreciating the world’s beauty and the beauty that people create.

Increasing your knowledge and awareness means being intentional and proactive in your life: breathing exercises, power breathing, recovery, breathing, and Chinese breathing. I’ve heard it said for many decades that there’s no better exercise than what excellent breathing patterns can do for you. I’ve tried many of them, and they do work.

Looking at the colors of a tree, the colors of the water, the mountain, the sky, the colors of the chakras, what you choose to wear, what you choose to drink and eat, the color of your car or your house, and the color of your aura, you can see that discipline in your life means knowing what to do and doing it without being asked.

Dance, stomp your feet, have a daily grounding ritual, spend time with your family, balance your finances, improve your finances, sit down and work on your handwriting, write a letter, journal, or script, or have a conversation with somebody or a family member are also ways to help.

Listening to classical music or any music that uplifts the soul, having positive activities in your life, learning your personality traits, positively becoming a better version of yourself, finding joy in righteous living, and having constant prayer in your heart. Have a ritual of worship in the morning and at night, blessing over your food, praying for others, and being present in each moment.

Keep Learning, Keep Elevating

There are four levels of learning in every aspect of life, and this framework can apply to various areas, even if they aren’t explicitly listed here. As you engage with this blog and explore my tips, you may encounter new concepts or revisit familiar ideas. Each focus area has its own set of four learning levels, guiding you on your journey to achieve greater mastery.

For example, I was at level one of learning before my first massage therapy session. I progressed from levels two to three after attending numerous sessions and classes on administering techniques, oils, and healing points. Now, I have reached level four in certain areas of massage. I can explain the methods, seek them out, recognize them, and perform most of them as I continue to develop my skills.

  1. Unconscious incompetent.
  2. Conscience incompetent.
  3. Conscious competent.
  4. Unconscious competent.

“Great discoveries and improvements invariably involve the cooperation of many minds.” -Alexander Graham Bell.

Furthermore, you can read a book about different subjects, learn a new skill, read a book series, read a verse, read the scriptures, rearrange your house or a space in the home, and become more responsible and accountable for your actions. Please give yourself a self-reward, whether it’s getting lunch, going to the movies, doing something nice for yourself, scrapbooking, or being intimate with your spouse. Have you heard of making a bucket list? Treasure map that list. Meditate, take supplements, downsize your stuff or simplify your life, de-clutter (clutter causes marital stress), get organized, and have a functional and beautiful home. Check your gabba levels to balance out your neurotransmitters and help quiet the mind and get better sleep. Follow ultradian rhythms and take those breaks now and again, power naps, and listen to your body.

The Home Stretch

If you want more, the possibilities are vast. Moreover, dental support, lymph drainage, a facial or spa day, perhaps medical care, physical therapy, going to get new clothes, new shoes, craniosacral therapy, stretching, yoga, chakras, colors, sounds, psychoacoustic therapy, quantum healing, getting a blessing, asking for prayers, fasting, confessing something, being obedient, and living with integrity are all good things.

I recently taught this subject in a nutrition class at Natural Grocers in Corpus Christi, TX, aiming to help build a strong, happy, healthy community. The new friends I met received the lesson very well. I even had a guy tell me, “I’m going to be like a tumbleweed, and roll where you go, I will be!” I loved that; I hope to inspire everyone with whom I come in contact.

I hope you enjoyed learning here; I’d love your feedback. Please share any of these modalities that I’ve worked best with you and their positive effect, or share something you’d like to try and what you have incorporated in your life as a ritual.

As always, I’d love it if you shared this information. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below. 2. I’d say I’m a good level four on number 6. I’m been very consistent with exercise and I’m hoping to be close to a level four on number 3 I think we can all do a little better avoiding people and crappy things hehe
